I think everything might become clearer if we were to read Carlos Romanov's (Alexei's father's) story. Since this Feliks guy is obviously his mortal enemy and Lean's dad. What I want to know is why he wanted Lean to give him a grandchild if he hates his whole bloodline to death? His grandchild has the blood of the man he hates. So why? It dont make sense.

In my writer's mind as Carlos I would probably teach the child to hate Feliks and try to ruin him as he grows older probably like a terrible fate make his on blood end him.
