i am so tired of mcs/ml in romance isekai being weirdly dense or not skeptical of obvious coincidences. it’s frustrating how they’re both supposedly extremely smart, but can’t even make the easiest realizations about suspicious situations! this latest chapter is one of the first times im seeing a ml not act inhumanly dumb, and instead investigate his gut feeling about mc
misunderstanding tropes are the hardest to write simply because authors don’t know HOW to create a well rounded cause and effect. when the trope happens it means clearing it up ruins something meaningful or there’s reasonable evidence to believe the false narrative. which most misunderstands don’t!! what made the current chapter so compelling is the princes refusal to fully believe mc’s words, then looking into it. and the prince’s inquisitive nature makes total sense! not only because his dragon instincts, but how this new stranger perfectly emulates og mc without even trying. a total disservice to the prince and the arc would be making him ignore all these signs!! how would he be a true yearner if he can’t even investigate a 1% chance of discovering his man ??
