Okay so they do get together, but dohyun only truly falls in love way later than (WTF is my reaction, how'd bro say okay to being a relationship if ya didnt like him like that??? Omg) but it GETS WORSE
However dohyun is actually someone that wooyeon's mother sent AND PAID to monitor wooyeon and keep tabs on him and shit SINCE THE VERY FIRST TIME THEY MET(TUTOR STUDENT) so this is literally....betrayal itself and he had multiple chances to fess up MULTIPLE!
the forgiving part was rushed and uh there u go

Not only is dohyun some kind of manipulative guy, he gets with him fully knowing that he's being paid and shit to monitor THAT IS CRAZYYYYY
how did uke forgive him???? Also dont even get me started with how he's coming off as some kind of abusive tutor groomer guy atp This man knows damn well how vulnerable wooyeon is....
This is not true lmao. Why would you consider someone else’s opinion as a fact when you haven’t read the novel yourself?

SPOILERS
Dohyun started liking Wooyeon pretty early, way before they get officially together. Actually, the next chapter in the manhwa is when Dohyun realizes he has a crush on Wooyeon, as we find out later in the novel when we read his POV. Yes, Dohyun was hired by Wooyeon’s mother to inform her about her son when he was his tutor (mind you, he didn’t even care about the money). She and Dohyun knew each other since Dohyun was a kid. While he talks with Wooyeon’s mom in the current timeline a couple more times, it’s not to inform her about Wooyeon as he did years before. He actually tells her he wants to tell Wooyeon the truth himself. His mistake was not telling Wooyeon everything when he had the chance, but there’s a reason why it took him so long. He owns up to his mistakes, apologizes many times, but Wooyeon doesn’t forgive him immediately. And he’s never abusive or a groomer, wtf. He never harboured romantic feelings towards Wooyeon when he was 16 or treated him inappropriately. Dohyun’s a very human character who makes mistakes along the way; he’s even frustrating at times (and so is Wooyeon) but you actually understand why he acts the way he does. This story is more emotionally charged and has more depth than Omega Complex, for example, but it isn’t dark nor Dohyun is this abusive, red flag type of character.
It’s okay if you want to drop the manhwa based on someone else’s opinion about the novel, but please don’t treat those “spoilers” as if they were a fact and assume that’s how things happened.

Yes it's true I haven't read the whole novel(I'm at c67?) but that review was crazy if you saw the one I'm referring to on novelupdates
I totally get it and I'm sorry for the misconceptions I laid out and I'm actually relieved dohyun is less of a cunning guy than he sounded like in that review but I still think that it's awful how he got together with wooyeon without telling him about that hiring thing with the mother even if he did have his reasons, crossing out money intentions (phew)
The reason why I said groomer and I'm sorry for using that word it's probably not the right one after hearing what you said so he's not a groomer, I'm sorry, he's flawed/troubled/he's not perfect(of course) is what I'm hearing (im not trying to be sarcastic or anything here i think my typing gives off that tone, I'm so sorry again )
Not a groomer, but still in a position where he could hold power over wooyeon because the way he could have been aware that he was the only good thing in his hardest time of his life and therefore had some leverage but again that's just my loose guess I'm not far in the novel and that oh "I didn't do anything because u were too young" (so if he had been older but still in the same deppressive situation would u have done sum? It'd be better if the tutor student relationship where wooyeon was often comforting him was pulled up and not JUST the age gap, he did bring it up but so briefly, i was a bit disappointed in where I was reading, comfort equal love??? Wooyeon said nah I guess..I hope it makes sense that i was making out this idea that wooyeon was getting taken advantaged of ) also, just food for thought, "my baby grew up beautifully"? (Interesting choice of words or is it just the translation? )
Dohyun said in the novel that "he liked being liked" which at first came off really surprising to me(liking someone for what they give..yeah, I'm not a fan of that) also the way he was playing some weird games knowing that wooyeon had a crush on him, yk what I mean? (Gave the wrong idea of sleeping together -> also me screaming behind my screen dohyun just tell him you like him alr!!!! Oh and he knew that he was his past student all along, so he played along ) (Altho he is caring to wooyeon and does assure him he likes him!!! Even so I could hardly trust dohyun at that point....) and then it was like wtf is this guy(dohyun) up to? -> in my head -> + that crazy review -> oh shit!!!
I hope you can understand that I was biased since I had already gotten a negative image of him
Anyways cheers(how long can replies be lmao ??) Oh and I forgot to say merry christmas
Ngl, I thought you hadn’t read the novel at all and were just basing your opinion on other people’s opinions. My bad. Now that I know that you stopped at chapter 68, I can definitely understand why Dohyun seems that way so far. It all becomes more clear once you get to his POV from chapter 75 onwards. Thanks to these chapters, you can understand his reasoning behind the things he did. I’m not gonna say it makes it okay because it doesn’t. For example, when he wasn’t clear with Wooyeon that one time where Wooyeon thought they had slept together, I agree. I think that was the most frustrating scene for me lol but I understood why he acted that way -again- when I read his POV.
I see your point (and don’t worry, you don’t sound sarcastic) but I promise you you understand Dohyun’s character so much more once you read his thoughts and know his backstory. Everything makes sense once you do. For me, the “You were too young for me to love you” line was exactly that; that he didn’t see Wooyeon in that sense (and that’s why he rejected him) even though he grew to feel genuine concern and started caring about him along the way. Dohyun was selfish, yes, but again, you understand why he had that mindset of “I liked being liked by you a little too much” once you learn more about him. Oh and that line about him growing up beautifully? I haven’t checked the raws but I didn’t take it in a weird sense? For me it was him seeing Wooyeon in a different light now that he grew up and acknowledging he’s beautiful.
Also, the reason for not telling Wooyeon that he knew him is because he was waiting for Wooyeon to tell him first as he thought he had his own reasons. During his POV, you learn that he actually ran after Wooyeon as soon as he heard his name from Garam when they met each other in campus after the timeskip. But then he realized Wooyeon had no intentions of telling the truth so he decided to wait for him.
Anyway, I also saw many spoilers before reading the novel and I started it expecting the worst but finished loving it (and Dohyun’s character) so much haha. Honestly, Dohyun’s such a fascinating character to me to the point he might be my favourite BL character. He’s not a red flag but he’s not a green flag either. He’s just very human to me and I loved seeing many facets about him throughout the novel. Something I dislike though, is how many people are too harsh on Dohyun when Wooyeon is just as frustrating at times lol (this got too long as well ).
By the way, if you want to continue reading the translation, someone translated chapters 69-89 and posted them on Tumblr. Merry Christmas!
(if it's 100% based on the novel) (um i read the novelupdates review spoilers on the novel of this) guyz this story is actually darker than i thought like poor wooyeon holy fuck man that dohyun is not what you'd expect...i don't think i'm going to stick around uhm...you have been warned, not that the story isn't good it's just that a dark story like wooyeon's isn't my thing(i know i'll get super super frustrated and apparently author rushed things, sad sad sad)
