Ikik, the comment made weren't misogynistic exactly, but it's so weird to me that the comment was made in the first place like.... Why you got beef with the only female character and no one else dawg....
they weren't comming from a misogynistic mindset (which I'm hoping for atleast) but from how readers are initially conditioned to hate on a character who comes in the way of the main characters' love story. Out of all characters who comes into their way, thd female character was the one who was introduced first so yeah, the mind was conditioned to put the blame on someone from the get go.
It's not the gender but how she was introduced as. I've disliked characters in some stories just because they were in the "way" of the story, be it a boy or a girl--though they were just "existing" which ofcourse is wrong lmao but who cares?? It's just a little fiction story.
Yes i do get that, a random urge to just not like a character does exist but, you need tp understand, even if it's "just a fictional story", historically, gay spaces have always had a well documented misogynistic problem, whereas gay men for some reason are always trying to put women down, yes not all of them but enough of this exist that people literally study this kinda stuff, a fictional story online like this, which provides the ability to write topics and all that counts as a "space" / "community" so smth innocent such as a random misplaced hatred on the only female cast who (coincidentally) do get in the way of our male x male ship, sometimes do indicate smth to worry abt. Sorry for the yap, it's just that maybe it's "not that deep" but it really is that deep.
Random hostility and misogynistic comments towards the literally innocent FL,
(if you don't know what im talking abt it's a few topics back) she literally did nothing but exist in this story so far and have been nothing but so far extremely kind, but for some reasons there's like some people who commented snide ass shit towards her?? Calling her boring and all that when we weren't even fucking introduced about her as a character that much yet. And don't say "oh it's bc her design is boring". Dude. This is a story with a simple artstyle in which most of our character's design are literally a basic haircut with a variation of black-brown with some occasional coloured hair stragglers. OUR MAIN CHARACTERS AND HIS LOVE INTEREST HAVE LITERALLY BEEN ROCKING A BOWL FUCK HAIRCUT. WITH BASIC LITTLE TO NOT PERSONALIZED DESIGNS. JUST BC WE WEREN'T THAT INTIMATELY INTRODUCED TO THE GIRL SUDDENLY YOU HAVE UNKNOWN REASONS TO DISLIKE THE CHARACTER??? THAT'S INSANE. Maybe you have smth deep inside that draws you towards not liking literally one of the only female cast on this specific read???
