Ji-an has been tragic from the very beginning—being made addicted, exploited, and controlled in so many ways. Now, the revelation that he has no real status or identity is just another blow from the author. And this might not even be the main plan of Jin and Ji-tae? What more pain await Ji-an? Will Ji-an x Happiness ever be canon, or is he just the punching bag of the story?
I like Ji-an, but I can’t completely absolve him. After all, Ji-an was the one who kidnapped Mi-eum’s father, threatened him, and pushed him toward Ji-tae in the early chapters. Even though his motives weren’t clear, those actions made Ji-tae go from having no ill feelings toward Ji-an to outright hating him…
But still, it’s not bad enough to say he doesn’t deserve a happy ending, right? T_T Ji-tae’s frustration with Ji-an is understandable, but please don’t torment Ji-an any further. He’s already suffered too much…
I might be wrong but I think Jian kidnapped Mieum's dad because he wants to put his mom in jail because killing Jitae's mom. So he fake Mi-eum's dad death and try to retrieve him. He kidnapped Jitae because Mi-eum was friend with Jitae. He might know something. It turns out Mi-eum also a witness when Hajoon and Suryeon killed Jitae's mom.
I still remember when Jian was angry when Jitae soften his heart for Mi-eum again. He didn't send Mi-eum there to make them fall in love again but more like to tease Jitae (like heyyy this is your kidnapper's child. Revenge him!) instead Jitae fall in love back. Lmao. I can see Jian is pretty reckless. He wanted to get away from his mom by helping Jitae to put his mom in jail. He seems to have motive with Hajoon as well. Hajoon is Suryeon's dog. So probably that's why he keeps him close even though he's so bad and influence him with drugs. Ughhh ... Jian seems to care about Jitae but now he knows they are not siblings... Ugh ... I feel so bad for him tho..
I think you’re right! This also explains why Ji-an treated Mi-eum so badly at first but still helped him (in the incident where Hajoon drugged him). Ji-an knew Mi-eum was important to Ji-tae and didn’t want his beloved younger brother to worry. Ugh, Ji-an really cares about Ji-tae, so much that even Jin gets jealous—it’s pretty telling. Even though they don’t share the same blood, they can’t really be brothers anymore, can they? But as long as Ji-an finds peace, that’s all that matters…
Out of all characters, Jian is the saddest one. Nobody really cares about him. At least Jitae still care of him as brother but not as much since they are half-siblings. Not to mention his witch mom just give him birth just to get power from Baeks. Not an ounce of care. Jin the same had some selfish love-hate relationship with Jian. And now, knowing Jian wasn't real blood-related with Jitae??? And his real dad probably some president of enemy? What could be worst for Jian???? Poor him. Atleast Mi-eum still have his father and Jitae that love him. But Jian?? Literally nobody...
