Nah, be overprotective. He did nothing wrong, he wasn't pushy and his intentions were pretty clear from the beginning. Idk why Max is such an ass to him. Rejection is fine, nobody has to be accept the other one's feelings, but that felt kinda homophobic.

I think you forgot that the red head was always nice towards him and very clear about his intentions. He literally didn't deserve to be treated and looked at like a nasty insect. You are free to reread the chapters where he appeared and how he behavioued. Drawing a clear line and being nice don't contradict.

And then he goes and ask questions he himself wouldn't have liked to hear, would even get mad about and forces red head to confess to him.
"Whatever feelings he might have for me are irrelevant" okay? So why does he make a big deal out of it? Why can't he just say "you were right about my friend and I and we are together"?

This just feels like you’re overthinking the rejection. Neither of them are perfect. What you’re referring to as being treated and looked at like “a nasty insect” is just his seriousness towards this relationship. While Minwoo always tries to make light of the situation, Max tends to keep his guard up. That line is not him judging Minwoo for being open about his preferences, it’s just him contemplating that Minwoo sees a chance when he never had one in the first place. And ok? why are you making such a big deal about the “irrelevant feelings”? Why can’t Minwoo just say “I’m interested in you, can we date?” Max never forced him to open up. If you reread the chapters yourself, Minwoo openly gave that information and Max had asked “If you don’t mind telling.” See while Minwoo had no problem trying to shoot his shot by hanging out with him and talking about what could be, Max wanted to keep it more professional. I never said Minwoo was not kind or disrespectful in any way. But you’re taking the view of rejection too far.
