omg yes! I feel the same way! when my exes would call me pet names it would make me cringe so bad that I would usually get the ick and break up with them… I have now come to realize that i want to be the one who babies my partner lol
i used to REALLY hate petnames for the longest time they just felt so gross. it took like, a whole decade for me to realize that i personally don’t like being called them but i /love/ calling my bf petnames. i really like love and lovely. when i got older i only ever entered relationships with men i was hopelessly in love with and they were all sweethearts so of course i loved letting them know they were my sweetheart and my baby. idk. that’s just my take lol. but i totally get both sides!!
