Alright, let's say that I may have some lapses when I read your comment. I admit to that with all my sentient being. Now if you will grant me your time for me to ask a question, how is the manga/anime bland in your opinion?

Because personally I think it's great, story of how a dude wants to do his best for their shop and a girl who wants to cosplay, some struggles that came with doing their passions. Interaction and personality wise, in my opinion were properly portrayed, it shows their character through how they communicate with other people. There are times that they have shown/drawn "sexy" cosplays but I think it was balanced out with other cosplays. And it moves away from the other common tropes that are fairly popular too, a breath of fresh air if you will.

Due to the "annoying" cliché tropes seen in most shoujo animes, I don't think this one differs. What makes it even more insufferable to me is the fact that it actually has a fan base for it, primarily on fan service basis. And where's an anime without the ecchi bait content, there! In the freaking anime and manga! So subjectively, and as someone who can't stand female characters as the FL, and unnecessary fan service coupled with the fact that it's ecchi. I didn't think it would be non stereotypical and "a breath of fresh air" sort of anime. And I hate the fact people such as yourself alongside other AI-bot-brained anime fans think it actually is. And I'm sure you'd say "it's not your cap of tea" guess what animes and mangas as this would never be, except it's something worth calling a nice "breath of fresh air" shoujo anime. A manga that has character development, well drawn designs, comedy, and sweet slow burn while also making the characters stand out from other mangas in its genre is hardly something to be called bland. The plot is fun. If fan service isn’t something you like and the rest of the manga doesn’t intrigue you then that’s that. You just won’t like it and that’s ok. The fan service is way better than some other works though. Btw the fan base for this is not mainly on its fan service. But for the manga as a whole. That’s why it has such a wide following. The Ecchi is pretty tame. It’s more cute sexy than overt. Marin is a very confident female lead. She knows what she likes and she isn’t shy about it. She isn’t even the typical dumb which so many female leads tend to lean towards, especially in romance categories. Gojo is your typical outcast main lead but he has had a lot of character development. He slowly has come out of his shell and learned it’s ok to say that he likes something most people his age don’t. And Marin’s confidence has inspired him to be more himself. No one cares if this type of manga or anime would ever be something you like. It’s not news worthy. But to act like you’ve even properly explained “I know what this is manga” when all you did was complain that it isn’t for you, you knew it wasn’t likely for you, but you gave it chance and are mad people like it. Stay mad then. Glad you took a step out of your comfort zone but it doesn’t seem like you ever gave it a proper chance to begin with. I haven't read all these essay comments but that "bland" word is perfect for this, & you can clearly see that author is afraid to write their relationship properly, author creates all these side story chapters to shy away from them & idk anything about cosplay so maybe its good from cosplayer's POV, in starting chapters it was good but not anymore

And I know for a fact that there will always be ai bot brained fans who enjoy crap anime and mangas as this, that'll come up with stupid excuses of how good of a plot animes and mangas like these are. After the bashing in the end they'll always have little to no meaning to their alleged claims about how good that obviously trash anime or manga is. And one thing I'll possibly not agree is Dandadan being an example of a well written romance?? Or a better romance?? If anything I'd say Studio Ghibli animes, majority of them have a more plotted romance and premise. Not the trash and repetitive animes we get nowadays.

Like I honestly don't get the problem with saying "this isn't for me but I'm glad other people can enjoy it". One of the great things about manga and anime in 2024 is we have so much of it so everyone's tastes can be catered for. When I was a teen there was so few shojo animes even still there are far less comparatively but they are on the up which is wonderful! I read A LOT of manga and have done since my very first random tokyo mew mew volume 2 in like 2005 some I have liked some have been meh but just as much as my fav ice cream is mint choco chip it isn't everyone's and I'm glad for that as honestly how awful would it be if I went into an ice cream shop and they only ever sold mint choco chip and I never got to try any other flavours?
