I feel like the mc is the touchy-feely type of person. Where when they sit beside someone he feels too comfortable that he doesn't realize his touch makes others uncomfortable. And nobody seems to have told him tat they didn't like it ot either so he thought they were okay with him being that way. I think he thought he was just being friendly. But then suddenly a guy was being friendly back to him that he got flustered and drank. Just to be raped by the exact same guy. Someone should've just told him that his touch we're too intimate that it's uncomfortable. Instead of calling him trash outright. I think it's possible that he could change. But what can I do, that's what the author wants.
