the 1st male lead, is a red flag through and through. He is a psychopath who has found someone that incites a feeling in his akin to when he murders people indiscriminately. (and mother Hubbard he murders a LOT of people... like .... cus he's in a bad mood, cus he's trying to punish the MC for disobeying him, cuz he's bored,... he's a murderer.)
the 2nd male lead, though a play boy who has little ambition being the kings brother, genuinely falls in love with the MC and wants to help him escape the cycle of abuse. He's a green flag through and through. He's also obsessed with the MC, but won't take it too far. He controls himself and is awaiting the MCs consent. There is one sketchy moment way towards the end of their relationship where he loses his temper and almost crosses the line, but the MC said no so he stopped, because he doesn't want to hurt the person he loves, but he hates that the person is loves is choosing to go back to the one who hurt him the most.
The whole damn thing is tragic.

The worst part being the victim chooses the abuser because they have been victimised their entire lives and can't change the scope of their expectations.
I will add that towards the end of the novel, Garon does change his behaviour to the criteria set by the MC. He's restrains himself
To be honest.. when the 2nd ml is related to the main ml, especially if it's his own family, it makes me a little uncomfortable.
But well i still prefer the mad king over that green second lead.
