I didn't understand why from one chapter to another, Karel becomes nice. At one point he tells Sasya that he is a burden and the latter is inconsolable, and then we see him save him from execution. I didn't understand this spy story
I think Karel was mean to Sasya was to push him away so he wouldn't be in danger (remember Karel was the spy)
