i think it's because, despite their past and their constant banter, they're still business partners. the top sort of jumped the gun and made assumptions about the bottom and the bottom doesn't really owe him any explanation. it's just the perfect storm lol.
They r freaky but I didn't quite understand the story tho plus the bottom didn't even tell him that he wasn't doing sex or sum with his friends and that he doesn't have a lover
