Kinda feel bad for OG Reeze. The author completely screwed up everything for her

    That's what I miss compared to the novel;

    In the novel, Edith confronts Reeze/the Author who got caught trying to frame Edith for the first time and has to face consequences for the first time, while also experiencing total loss of control over the rules this world depended on.

    And she tells Reeze/the Author to use this chance. Like, after realizing that there's no remorse to be found and no empathy for someone else besides herself within Reeze/Author, she tells her to try out the possibilities, to GROW BEYOND this vapid wishfulfillment puppet-theater in endless loop.

    But Reeze/ the Author cannot IMAGINE anything else. New possibilities bear the risk of failure and she would rather repeat the same thing for all eternity than fail once. And then Reeze/Author digs her own grave (which still leads to a monastery, but like, with additional steps).

    Isn’t it that she have a happy ending with her ML? So i thought the manhwa ending was better. But maybe i didn’t read it long enough to know reeze consequences. Do you mind explaining more like how she suffer in the novel?

    From what I hear, now that she has her own ML, it's all about the uncertainty now that she doesn't have control over the story. The original ML might fall out of love for her, he might die in a war, the possibilities are endless.

    You could call it "happy end" if you just go by the mile stones Reeze/the Author had defined. She married Cliff. It wasn't as glorious as she had repeated and repeated and repeated;

    for one, reality had found it's way into the novel. So people reminded Reeze/the Author about "excuse you, we just had a jarring territorial war, why would we spend insane amounts of money on your wedding if a little less would still suffice?" something she never had to deal with.

    By no longer controlling and mentally subduing everyone to bide her wishes, her "charm" got lost the more she tried to force her way. Cliff quickly got disillusioned, his parents first doubted THEIR sanity, THEN hers. the princess turned away from Reeze/the Author (because Edith had shown her a way to be herself without being some ornament to enhance Reeze/the Authors importance and make her own path into the future; she had better things to do than set a stage for Reeze/the Author).

    You need to understand that Reeze/the Author had the "grand Finale" with the big wedding. Then there were some little Add-ons that were kind of "little girl wishful thinking" of Reeze/the Author entering the Prince's court as an advisor because she's so smart and wise. (Well, duh, that's what she wrote, she could've droned on about grass being green, cue: applause)

    And Reeze/the Author never thought beyond this, never WANTED TO SEE beyond this, never wanted to have relationship troubles with Cliff (that's not in his ROLE!), never wanted to age, never wanted to encounter a problem that she couldn't solve (her writing commanded that she knew everything while everyone oooh's and aaah's). So her favorite fantasy stops with her going to sleep on her wedding night. And back to the Start!

    But Edith happens and Reality and the laws of probability move in instead of falala-delusions.

    So Reeze/the Author splits with Cliff, who runs himself ragged trying to satisfy a woman that doesn't see him as a person but as a foil. The duke / duchess retreat as far as they can in their own castle without crossing ways with Reeze/Author. She tries to establish the plot points that are meant to follow after the finale (while Edith and Kilian are safely tucked away in their territory and enjoy peace and quiet and some revolutionary breakthroughs regarding public health care); she finally manoevers herself into high treason (because lacking the former powers to make people just ... DO what she wants and things HAPPEN as needed, she has to manipulate her way with brute force and money and er... leaving evidence, as normal people do).

    She dies in the monastery, aggrieved by the fact that on all accounts, Edith took her achievments, her "Role as female lead" so that she herself fully and truly became a villainess.

    Dang… so she ended up like that because of her own selfishness. She’s too spoiled and only think about herself till the end :/.

    Anyway, thank you morcheeba for taking time to write the longggg explanation. Really appreciate you explaining it to me (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ. I hope both side of your pillow will be cold!!

    Thank you to warriornun too for the explanation! Sorry i didn’t understand or read the novel more properly lol.
