as far as we know rn, he was reincarnated into the novel but to explain his completely different personality when compared to the novel huimin, he pretends like he has a multiple personality disorder. but he does get random flashbacks of novel huimin's past.

After the last chapter it just felt like he actually has the disorder
that is one of the theories people have made actually; that he never reincarnated, instead everything is actually his mental delusions. maybe it will revealed as a plot twist later?
