Why is the ML not literally clarifying the misunderstanding and the situation!!!???????? Why does he always stay quiet and no say anything on his ends to the MC. Is he deaf? Mute?

I thought back in chapter 39-41 they wuld start communicating. The MC opened his mouth in chapter 41 but the ML was closed, now the ML opened his mouth in chapter 42 but the MC was closed.
