I read the novel, and it was good—I loved how everything unfolded. However, in the long run, it gets frustrating how all the misunderstandings surrounding the MC persist, especially since he’s just deliberately putting up a front. Most of these misunderstandings could easily be resolved if the characters just put in a little effort to investigate the truth. But I digress…
What I really want to point out is the manhwa adaptation. While reading the novel, I was confused because I couldn’t find the chapter where the MC meets the female lead for the Friend Zone Project. It seems they left out several scenes that could have fleshed out the MC’s character behind the scenes, as well as the dynamic between the actors behind Profiler Haryang. For instance, there’s a chapter in the novel where the actors participate in a TV program. That was such a fun scene because we got to see the MC mess up for once. It highlighted his humanity despite his usual façade and gave us a glimpse into the other characters' personalities as well. It’s a shame this was excluded—it made readers feel more connected to the characters and the story.
There were also some filming sequences from Profiler Haryang that were omitted, along with minor details that added depth to the story. While the manhwa portrayed the scenes it did include well, it feels like these omissions weakened the narrative's overall richness.
I agree with one comment I saw: the manhwa made the MC a little sillier than he was in the novel.
I agree overall..but I'm confused on how you said they skipped the Mistake he made in the variety show when that's the new chapter of the manhwa ? Potato Cookie
In the novel the sports day comes waaay first before he meets the FL for the Friend Zone project omg i guess this is why I was so confused
