I’m sorry but bisexuality isn’t niche anywhere, being bi is as old as time immemorial. Like, the erasure of bisexuality on a systemic level goes a bit farther than ‘they don’t know it exists’ which is a kind of xenophobic statement, it’s an extension of societal homophobia fixating on gender norms in ‘straight’ relationships and the feeling that bisexual people sit so uncomfortably outside of the conservative zone it’s better to pretend they don’t exist.
As long as homophobia exists, biphobia manifests along the same lines.
Btw also lived in korea and went to pride/itaewon gay scene there… trust me they know abt bi people in asia JSHDJDHHDH
bro i didn't say ppl in asia don't know at all, I said it's not that common which means the concept of bisexuality is not really a common knowledge.
ofcourse the ppl in the queer scene and in the community would know better about the existence and the concept of bisexuality. but im talking about the ppl outside the community, because I believe the author is definitely not one of us. Trust me, I used to think like u "there's no way they don't know bisexuality exist." but to my surprise, even nowadays (istg) there's actually a lot of ppl in asia OUTSIDE the lgbtq community that didn't know or understand the concept of bisexuality. well i mean, thankfully, it's better nowadays since the term and existence of LGBTQ is more exposed and accepted in some of asian countries and we can find bi persona easily in the mainstream. but this comic was released in 2019, that's why I said it's kinda understandable.
