I thought so too. In the novel it actually seems like it and it looked like he changed the way he acted but when they ‘reveal’ Abel, he’s still a bit surprised
So he doesn’t actually for a long while. He definitely starts suspecting that he his Abel but he doesn’t fully believe it until they arrive near home and are attacked (if I remember correctly) and basically Abel finds out who captain is, basically almost dies/dying, I think the other guy with them finds out who Abel is and reveals it to prince, and prince runs away with dying unconscious Abel.
But omg guys, the amount of times Abel dies or is dying or thought to be dead. ITS CRAZY
