from my understanding of the story
they both regressed. i'm not really sure too but they most likely have several timelines including mc and ml's life without omegaverse, their previous tragic timeline, and latest timeline. the ml only regressed from their tragic timeline.
it's still not clear if it's just the mc having delusion (abt the story without omegaverse) and that timeline did not really exist or he really possessed the omega mc's body.
