i have a problem with myungha being immersed in his sorrows and carrying burdens on his shoulders as if he's someone's hero and completely forgetting to consider the feelings of the ones around him and how impulsive jungwon tends to get when things get suffocating, see how going to a loan shark went through his mind at least 3 times since this marriage with mia thing started. i wanted to see them changing and getting better, because the way things are rn it just doesn't look like anything other than a toxic relationship. i can't get into it, they're so annoying to me
The thing with jung won is that hes never felt the active consequences of any mistake he's made. The first time he borrowed money from his older brother, all he knows is that his brother got mad at him and took the money to the other brother, and then came back with the money. He doesnt know the humiliation the mc has gone through from the loan shark brother. He also thinks that since theyre related, hell get off easy compared to other debtors, but also doesnt know that this is his older brothers sick ploy to take his insecurities out on the main charecter. I think he still needs to go through more development, and thats what i look forward to. I think if there is an easier option to get money in a short time instead of busting your ass for it (jungwons first pov chapter literally says hes an easygoing guy who wants to take the least effort for the most results.) of course you keep thinking it. In his mind that one action could potentially make his loved ones life easy and buy more time for everyone.
With myungha idk what to say rlly his moms wasting away, and both of them know that the moms being a burden, with no one exxplicitly saying it out loud. That kind of sorrow really does alienate you and if the same thing happened to me I would also not really consider other peoples feelings because my mother is wasting away. Also working as a stripper and not tellign your mom, and working a day job as well, means that you get little to no sleep, and couple that with your mom dying and working as a stripper and daying someone whos the same gender as you, the offer to assimilate to "normal" society is very tempting, and has parallels to real life where a lot of gay people do cut off things that mke them, them just to go back to normality. Both of them have things on their mind that are incredibly hard to articulate to communicate, and seeing them overcome that eventually is going to be the charehter development they deserve. Idk tho its not everyones cup of tea
Am I the only one who doesnt hate the focus on the side pairing? I dont think this is the kind of manhwa with fwop fwop and the main chaarecters just falling in love. It really explores the nuances of sex work and i personally love how every charecter is fully fleshed out and has their on problems, and no one is ever two dimentional. Sometimes. in some manhwas I skip chapters just because everyone else other than the main pairing is boring and very two dimentional, or are just a collection of tropes falling for each other, but no one in this manwha feels like a trope to me. The only other bl that feels like a mature take on adult life is probably perfect buddy, but in a different way. Ill be looking forward to this one in particular.
