he's actually not an asshole. he's more of the pure type of character where his sense of justice is twisted. he had good intentions, and because he is the mc's best friend, he believes that it's his duty to discipline him back to a ''proper'' person.
that means to say that he isn't two-faced. even the mc acknowledges that fact and uses it to his advantage in the card game.
