*rubs hands togehter* I literally scrolled through comments until I found someone in need of my expertise. Because, seriously. Where else am I going to use it? Okay. Let me break it down. This doujinshi takes place in an omegaverae au (alternate universe). That means that everyone has a secondary gender. Whether you're biologically a female or male, you will either be an alpha, beta, or omega. Alphas are generally very charismatic, good leaders, possessive, strong, protective, and in some cases, domineering. Their biological make up constructs of a knot at the base of their penis that inflates during sex. This improves the chances of getting a beta woman or an omega pregnant by holding the semen inside of them and giving it time to take. An alpha female would have a penis as well. That brings us to betas. In most fan fiction and doujonshis, betas are just normal people. They don't have any clinical secondary gender. Although I have read some fan fictions where the betas are kind of mediators between alphas and omegas. They keep omegas calm and are good friends to them, and can be lovers with either omegas or alphas, but they don't have true mates and there's no guarantee their lover won't leave them if they find their true mate because they need to be with their true mate. They also lack the upgraded sense of smell alphas and omegas have. They basically have the same ability to smell as the average human whereas alphas and omegas possess a stronger nose in an animalistic sense. And finally, omegas. Whether your are male or female, if you are an image, you have the ability to get pregnant. Male omegas do not have vaginas, btw. Omegas are preferable to alphas because not only are they rarer, but you are more likely to find your true mate, depending on the fan fiction. It varies from author to author how dark this au is. Sometimes omegas are held with the pristine of gods, and other times they are the lowest cast and don't have any freedom and are literally used as breeders.. Imagine the world without any rights for women, imagine that about eight or ten times worse. and then apply that to omegas. Sometimes they are even required to have an alpha with them if they go to the store, and aren't allowed to have a job without an alphas consent. Personally, reading those docs make me want to bask my head into a wall but I guess some people like the whole shaming objectification thing. *shudder* The idea of an omegaverse au came from the U.K. And originates around the idea of a wolf pack. I find the idea extremely intriguing and as you can tell, I know much more about this thanI probably should. Anyways. There are the very basics for you. I hope that cleared things up for you. If you want to read some A/B/O fan fiction, you should definitely check some out! Warning, it's either fantastic or it sucks. If you want to go see the one I did, you can search for 'Damn Daku Katsuki' on fanfiction.net or archiveofourown.com or wattpad.com. from the reviews I've gotten and the 24,000 people who have viewed it so far, I guess it's pretty good. I would recommend starting out with a different fan fiction first though because I build my own interpretation of the omegaverse au and get creative with it. I hope this helped!
