Tell me what you think the future of Polar Attraction is.
this is from my memory a while ago, but the author left an author note (available to read on korean site). she said she had difficulties writing this series due to her health and pregnancy, as well as difficulties when writing the main characters. I think she said had a different image in mind for Biya but it didn't exactly appear the way she envisioned on screen.
so I am thinking that she began the story without a solid direction. regardless, she had won an award for another shorter work after this series hiatus. so she worked on something else and was encouraged by company to develop that title instead of this one. this is also in addition to her continuing to work on Talk to Me's continued stories.
What I'm saying is, it feels like she will drop this series because she has left it to gather dust and continue to enthusiastically work on other things. it seems like she has more passion and eagerness (at the moment at least) for these other works, and they are easier to write and approach. But I wonder if she will really drop this series she created? I'm not an artist but I know that "perfectionism" is something some artists can struggle with, like if the work is not what they had envisioned they will move on to work on smth else. At the same time, I think that she is fond of Biya and I can't imagine abandoning something I created. And there are webtoon authors who have managed to return after long hiatus, not to mention she is a big name. but on the other hand, there are many series cut short or cancelled because of health reasons...
