This is purely my opinion, but I like to believe that there are some shows, movies, books that you absolutely cannot hate. I believe that if you hate them, you actually never understood what the main plot of that book/show/movie wanted to convey. And sometimes I really wonder when I see some manga/book (in this context) get a bad rating I always wonder. What exactly is the reason to hate it? If I have to give you an example I would give you the example of " no longer human" by dazai osamu. I have seen the book get a lot of hate because people were mad that it was misogynistic. But it kind of baffled me because you were reading that book expecting it to be the worst of the worst. So how is it that when you read the book where the man is clearly not stable and it is very obvious that he's not stable from the beginning. How do you expect him to not have any sort of fucked up views? Here in my context I wanna bring in "Haruka Tookie Le" I believe if you have read that manga. You truly cannot hate it. There is nothing to hate about it (maybe i am being ignorant) but it's the truth of society in the RAWEST possible form. And this makes me think. Do people who do not like these kinds of books, movies, or shows, do they hate it because there is a legit reason for them not liking it or do they just hate did for the sake of hating it?
I've seen similar cases with the other works that also feature negative potrayals through their characters and I think it's because people often mistake portrayals as endorsements which is not accurate.
