That's the thing. We are as clueless as the MC. The MC himself thought the real world is the cultivation world but we aren't really sure because he also occasionally shift to the modern world. Everytime he acts in the cultivation world, he also acts in the modern world. That's why he looks insane and was admitted to the mental hospital in the first place. He basically acts out the entire thing in the modern world people's PoV. It's pretty painful to read it
I tried the novel up to Chapter 200ish. The MC suffers in every single chapter. I tried to relax and ended up with mental fatigue after I read it. Like holy hell, author didn't give any time for the MC to rest. It's just tragedy after tragedy, pain after pain, suffering after suffering. He had one place as his solace and yet it was taken. He has no one to trust. You will only see his distrust to every single people in the series. Read at your own discretion.
