Because it looks weird when the two characters have the same hair color. Like how darks and lights go well with each other. There needs to be some contrast in character designs otherwise it’s kind of ugly. Though it’s not always bad.

Yeah, with the artstyle of 99% of these story’s, it’s gonna look like selfcest or twincest cause these artists have really bad same face syndrome.
Hey why like 80% of bl's main characters are one with dark hair and the other one super light hair (blond, white..)
