Yes uke heard the former as the guides rewrote the duke's reply to be despise. Which is why he felt so betrayed when their feelings were somewhat mutual and uke disappeared thinking after everything that the Duke still wanted him basically dead.
So he didn't say 'despise'
But instead said 'cherish'
But uke heard the former? Is that correct?
