usual i rejected you and realized my feelings too late now that you don't like me Regret Trope.
recent raws- ML gets more affectionate & attached. kyuho confesses first & gets rejected. ML convinces him their current status quo is the better choice, despite being internally pleased and finding kyuho's confession cute. kyuho gets weepy drunk w/friends and angrily storms over to ML's apartment. ML gets jealous, asks the friend to leave & give him drunk kyuho. next morning kyuho apologizes but ML says it's ok & says something hurtfully patronizing like, "this is normal, you have to get it out of your system eventually"
kyuho is heartbroken again that his feelings & confession is dismissed so easily like that by ML and he is on the cusp of distancing himself from ML.
like... on raws i wager we're close to the arc where MC pulls away and ML realizes that just being friends & not being in a relationship has it's glaring disadvantages when you're actually in love with your fuck buddy, like not having any say when they choose a serious partner willing to date them over hanging out with you or they start to focus more on work and other aspects of their life over you.
So….distance makes you get closer?
More like "absence makes the heart grow fonder." Or realizing the importance of something after losing it.
