I understand you. This is story is really simple. But mind if I share a bit of my opinion?
As a someone who’s been reading a lot of complex romance story especially korean manhwas, this manga is perfect for light read. As you said it is lack of depth and details, but it is perfect for me when I was starting to get tired of complicated stories.
However seeing everyone loves this story so much that I haven’t seen any opposing opinions, it is nice to hear some other opinions about this manga!

For me the biggest appeal of this one is Itsuomi is not a boyfriend project. In so many romance manga and anime the woman is expected to take on the emotional burden and accommodate the man. She has to heal him. She has to emotionally take care of him and take the pain until he decides to be a better person. She needs to wait for him to get his shit together. I like how in this one the female lead gets to date who she is actually initially attracted to and the other guy is left to figure out his own shit. How it ends for Oushi is incredibly satisfying for me. To for once not see the emotionally stunted man catered to.

Also, in my opinion, I wouldn’t call him perfect he’s kind of weird like really weird. I got the ick when he said that he liked Yuki because she hadn't heard any ugly word and so she was pure, and he wanted to "influence" her. Also, it felt weird how he acted in the beginning. It’s like he treated her like some specimen to study and to learn another language. I don’t think he’s special. I’ve seen many mls liks him. Overall, he has no personality and is bland. I wanted more to the story than them simply being cute, but even then all they ever do is hang out like they’re nothing special

So what do you want them to do wth? .. I think he got a personality tbh and his path in life is so different compared to other MLs which makes it interesting and makes me like him even more.. Also I think you're just interpreting what he said in a negative way.. and yh he ain't perfect but he's a more green flag compared to other shoujos which is y I say this is one of my favourite cause other shoujos the MLs r toxic and red flags

I don’t know something other than simply talking and blushing 90% of the time. It’s great that he’s a green flag, but I felt like the author could have written more to his personality or make him imperfect at times like having a little self doubt or making reasonable mistakes. Something to him other than his travels and how many languages he speaks.

Okay so going back to the Topic, Both sides aren't wrong, well.. in the end it's only a matter of personal preference. It's a great shojou not gonna lie. But I think what she was trying to imply is that the manga just wasn't to her taste. The ML is great but it would've been better y'know? But of course it's the author's work. So yeah, some enjoy it, some don't. But the "boombayah" thing was a bit off but kinda funny at the same time
This is my personal opinion, so please do not attack me.
This did not live up to its hype, its basic at best. I’m always hearing everyone say this is a masterpiece but to me it was nothing truly special or unique. The only thing that’s interesting is the fact that she’s deaf and that’s pretty much. The plot is simple and lacks depth and the characters are boring. I find myself wondering what the characters do in their free time, as none of them seem to have any hobbies or interests, except for Itsu and even he isn’t particularly compelling. Do we even know what Yuki’s major is, or have we at least been given a hint? Beyond the first two chapters, does the fact that they’re in college even matter? Most of the characters feel completely one-dimensional, especially the main character. Surely, there’s more to a deaf character than just their inability to hear?Even Itsu initially found her interesting solely because of her deafness. In the beginning, he treated her less like a person and more like a specimen to study, which only highlights the shallow characterization throughout the story.
Even the romance is quite bland and lacking. All they do is hang out sometimes and that’s it. Nothing interesting or memorable happens. It’s cute sometimes, but I need more to a story than it just simply being cute.
