they're Jiangshi! chinese zombies, sometimes called chinese hopping vampires. lots of fiction depict them as low-level but very durable enemies, the walking corpses of people who died with a lot of resentment and unfinished business. sometimes they wake up on their own as jiangshi, sometimes people will revive corpses and force them to wake up as jiangshi. they can also absorb people's life-force, so to speak
