I did wish for grandma to be in peace but that was before Dan came to his senses. The reason I wished for that in the first place is to end both Dan and grandma's suffering. I thought that Dan won't ever leave jaekyung because he needed money for grandma's treatment. And grandma well she's terminally ill and she must be in pain from her sickness and chemotherapy.
It’s not about wishing, it’s about it not making sense. This IS fiction, so when you write a character there needs to be a purpose for that character. I think it’s weird that you’re judging others for thinking it’s an odd choice for the author to have kept her alive. It’s like an unneeded plot twist. Her role was to place the financial burden and emotional sympathy for Dan, she was a plot device through and through. Her role naturally ended at the end of season 1. BUT, if there actually is a reason and the gma ends up playing a role later on, other than sympathy for Dan, then sure let’s see what it is. Otherwise, it’s just plain bad writing to allude to her death for a cliffhanger purposes and then retract it.
I’m not judging anyone i just think that it’s weird to wish for a character to die when they still have a purpose in the story. And also it’s Dan’s Grandma and death would be hard for him. He literally expressed how lonely he is. What would be the point in making him more sad? For JK to come and save the day? I don’t think that’s how it’s gonna happen. I do not agree with financial burden and emotional sympathy for Dan as her only role to the story. At the end of s1, grandma was not on her death bed. She was being transferred to hospice. Hospice patients can die as soon as they get there or years after. I never assumed she was going to die but i guess because I still believe she serves a purpose. Like you said, we will see :-)
idc if they’re fictional characters but wishing for an old lady to die is kinda odd….. even if it’ll speed up the plot like Dan will literally be miserable…. And I want Dan to be in a more stable mindset before that happens
