Do you guys feel like lately Japan hasn't been producing much quality manga? Like Korea has been kicking it lately with manwha! I feel sad cause I really miss some good stories from Japan! but manwha stories are so good.

I think some mangas just become a copy of something already done. It's like a copy paste thing. Think people lately read more manwa because honestly they are more interesting than some Japanese mangas. But, I just think we might find ourselves reading manga and manwa at the same time. Some already do.

To each their own, I guess. I read more manga than manhwa. The last manhwa I read was Blood Bank and I've never touched another coz it's just bad quality and story for me. But I can see how people are more inclined to manhwa coz it updates regularly unlike mangas that update sporadically.

I love manhwa but Id never read manhwa again if blood bank was the only thing ive ever read. I thought it was extremely overrated for such a mediocre webtoon.

I think there are many interesting manga but no scanlation/translation team has pick them up yet. Manhwa is nice, with refreshing story lines outside the japanese streotypes, and the colors are beautiful. I prefer manga over manhwa tho, since i don't have to scroll down for more scenes (⌒▽⌒)

i think, like the other person said above, its because manhwas update more regularly and are in general, easily accessible (like you can just buy them online) unlike mangas where its mostly published physically and its sort of harder to get online unless someone buys it irl and translates it, etc..

this is just my opinion though but i think if japanese mangakas had a bit more freedom with what they want to publish (unlike having to get approval first from another party/publisher before getting their mangas published.. so basically these other parties would select mangas which they think would be 'popular' because who would want to publish something just like that right?) i do believe there would be better mangas out there for us to read. This is purely just my opinion though. I think this is also why japanese mangas are a bit repetitive? in a sense coz they have to get approval first etc etc.

But hey.. i still really love japanese mangas tho :)

There're good & bad in both manga & manghwa, what we need to do is picking the one that suits our tastes.
