I am personally pleased with the ending. It got me thinking that it was a happy end since we see Jeremy slowly rebuilding himself up. I think we should't underestimate how hard it would be for someone with his past to stay settle on someone. It doesn t even matter here if it was man or woman. A normal relationship is not what I would call healthy for him.
I think it’s bittersweet. It’s good because Jeremy is finally free from abuse and is healing. It’s sad because he’s not completely whole yet & because he doesn’t have the one thing he really wanted in life (other than to not be abused).
Which makes it a good ending I think. The story is a realistic is a realistic depiction of abuse, and irl abuse victims don’t heal overnight. Giving a “happy” ending would not be realistic. And would seem unnatural in relation to the rest of the story, even though it’s what you desperately want.
i dont get it... was thet a good ending or a bad ending???
