ummm it’s been a while since i’ve read the novel but SPOILERS:
- new guys are NOT cannibals they act more like debt collectors
- soooooo in the new building they’re in, there’s multiple floors and basically the phys ed (PE) people have only cleared 3 of them
- PE are nice to newcomers because plot twist newcomers have to fight zombies on a new floor for a week in order to clear their debt to PE people
- so it’s MC and ML’s turn along with bear guy and another male student and it basically goes wrong and they have to abandon ship
- MC and the leader of the PE people get into an argument and throw hands until it’s discovered that MC has a bite on his wrist
- MC is tied up and thrown into a room and ML basically fights to be locked up with him
- queue angst and tears and we learn that ML likes strawberries and hates anything bitter and then bam, MC wakes up after going through the initial symptoms of being bit
- so now we know that MC is the cure and therefore a reason as to why ML is sent back in time
- fast forward a little and they escape with bear guy and !!!! that girl with a bob and her friend
- i forgot how but they escape by car and make it to the front gates, before that though they had passed by the bio lab where the infection had first started
- that’s when ML says something like “this is why i’m being punished?”
- turns out ML had gotten drunk the day before the spread and had to go to the bio lab for something and ended up messing with a control (that he thought was the light switch i think) that kept the bacteria stable ig?? i can’t really remember
- anyways they make it passed the front gates where they see military vehicles and soldiers lined up a couple of miles away
- i forgot to mention that some other guy joined them after they escaped!!
- this guy ends up running towards the military and they light his ass up soldiers were basically told to shoot on site
- MC and ML get shot, ML’s being more fatal so they start running into the woods (?)
- a soldier stops them but hesitates to shoot which leads to a zombie finding them and MC gets bit again but this time he has the soldier dude as a witness
- so fast forward to MC and ML are in the hospital alive and well and no more going back in time :,)

But didn't the MC get bit by zombies before? How come they didn't realize he was the cure in the previous cycles?
i don’t remember it being stated in the novel but my guess is that he was bit too much or too gruesomely that he ended up dying of blood loss
Oh now I know, the attack on MC by the zombies before where instant death so since MC is immune, he would die instead of turning into zombie. Remember the part where ML had to kill himself? Even if he didnt do that ML will naturally time loop again coz MC will die bec he wouldnt turn into a zombie.

Ah ok. That makes sense! I reread some of the chapters and it looked like no matter what the MC was going to die. Although I questioned the computer/sticky note scene but I didn't realize he bled out and died. Thanks!
