I’m getting a bit confused

Basically, ML and his brother (and other people) really want wikileaks. ML wants wikileaks to protect himself and his brother wants wikileaks to destroy ML.
Main character is the son of the guy who made wikileaks, so he and ML made a deal - ML gets wikileaks and MC gets his debt fully paid by ML. However, when MC actually found wikileaks - he lied to ML that they never existed to test him and see if he can really trust him with them. ML failed the test, so now MC is trying to run away before ML finds out that he lied.
Of course there are more to plot, but I tried to summarise the main points. Hopefully that helps.

Wikileaks are basically all the dirt his dad gathered on various celebrities and businessmen to keep them in check and exploit them, but then his own business and everything goes to shit, so he commits suicide and leaves MC with debt. He left him wikileaks (not directly) to protect him and give him chance to get his life straight (he even made a deal with the drug lord in case that MC suffers from debt - to just kill him painlessly instead of making him live in hell, but drug lord decided not to do that).
About ML. I’m reading chapters as they release, so I’ve read it long time ago, but, as I remember, MC’s father kidnapped ML (+ tortured him and recorded videos for blackmail/wikileaks) to pressure his family and blackmail them. However, MC’s father didn’t expect that ML’s family would just abandon him and tell him to kill ML, because they don’t care. In the end, ML was saved by the MC’s father’s subordinate and ML escapes.
Additionally, in the recent chapter, MC found the wikileak of ML and in the video ML promises that he would find the MC and do worse things to him. ML already failed the trust test, so when MC saw the threat - he became terrified and needed to dip ASAP.

What was the trust test?

He told him that wikileaks do not exist to see his reaction and what would he do to him to see if he can trust him with wikileaks (because without wikileaks MC is powerless and useless). And, as you can see, ML didn’t take it very well
