I can’t say I loved this Manhwa, but it hooked me just enough to keep going without dropping it halfway. It’s like that snack you don’t really enjoy but somehow finish the whole bag anyway.ლ(´ڡ`ლ)
The character development was probs the highlight for me. Watching characters who didn’t know how to love slowly discover this new, tender emotion. But i wish there was more, because that’s probably all there was to it… ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍
But……—I couldn’t stand how possessive the ML got (╬ ̄皿 ̄)凸. Like seriously, we’ve all seen the comments, and I totally agree: it was giving major red flag vibes, and I’m a person who digs red flags so that’s saying something!
At one point, I was so annoyed when he truly believed, “he’s captured her in his little cage?” Sure, it doesn’t feel that bad because the FL likes him, but let’s be real—if she didn’t? ….. this story would’ve slid into a completely different (and much darker) genre.
As for the FL….., I had a love-hate relationship with her too. I really wished she would stand up for herself or even others more often. Like, there were moments when she had every reason to call the ML out, but instead, she just… didn’t. And then she’d go right back to being all cozy with him. It was frustrating to watch, to say the least.
Overall, the story wasn’t bad, but it could’ve used more drama or tension to spice things up. A lot of the chapters felt more filler—like, I could probably summarise the entire plot in about ten chapters, and it wouldn’t lose much.
And that ending… wow. Even on my second read, I wasn’t ready for it. I’m so used to Manhwas ending with the typical “happily ever after” that seeing their deaths really threw me. It was bittersweet, and even though I knew it was coming this time, it still hit hard.
