maybe sano hit late puberty so he gradually got taller than azuma. what if not only did he change mentally, he changed physically too. then again it could of been’s author’s change and preference ╮(￣▽￣)╭

My only complain is that the Azuna seems shorter than Sano in the last chapters, I really liked Azuma being taller!!
