I think the implication is that he is unsure if she is still with the guy or if she has feelings for the guy which is why he specifically asked his friend to look up who the "guy" in our MC's life was. Though to be honest he could also just ask her and talk but it's a korean Manhwa with an amnesia plotline, bad communication is gonna be the norm lmao
right? it‘s okay for him to be bothered by it since he seems to be genuinely interested in her but investigating a person that spends most of her time just a couple of doors away seems so backwards and invasive.
May not be a good look but plot wise, is better because it resides the chances of him finding out what happened in the past. Also there is the possibility that even if he asked her, she could lie about it (wouldn’t be the first time in these types of plots where they said the kid isn’t his lmao) Because her not saying she had a child to a potential partner, is a big thing as well.

yes there is a chance she would lie to him. but honestly she doesn‘t owe him an explanation or the truth. they are not even in a proper talking stage tbh. they do not have the type of relationship where it‘s needed to disclose such information and most importantly: he‘s her boss. the power imbalance is already a problem but snooping in her business just for his personal gain? and not even attempting to talk to her but just dipping and then trying to get all chummy again during a work trip?
