Some spoilers said, that in the novel, they suffered for a long time. The author always like the chasing arc. Same with the parents of the ml's story, they used to be that way, abuse then
separate then chase. Both are so sick in the head.
and tbh? the chasing arc isnt even that LONG It's 85% suffering then 5%regret then 10%chasing arc in like 10-15 chapters. LIKE! at least make them work for it a bit (like 10x the suffering they inflicted lol)
