Also I have seen quite a few people call out the colorism and racism in this and I agree but sadly this is common in manhwas. This is not me excusing it tho and this needs to be called out more!

All the antagonist are brown people, the queen is also a culture appropriated caricature of a dancer slave who is saved by a white man. All the brown characters are perceived as the bad characters while the white characters are the good characters. This is problematic bc It seems the only representation of brown people we get is bad or they are depicted as slaves or animal characteristics. Also, if you’ve noticed certain panels, the brown character skin is much lighter. The author is quite problematic with almost all his work. They always have some form of colorism or incest. If you call this out, his team will get your account banned. He’s actually hated by Koreans like on the official Korean site all his work is rated one star and there’s so many hate comments. He also went super viral bc of how much he uses incest in his work and mostly because he wrote an incest pedophilic story called cinderella‘s brother.
This manhwa is not for everyone. I’m not gonna lie. I see a lot of your guys’s points. Even though I do like this manhwa I’m gonna be honest it’s not very well written, it is repetitive and I can see why some of you would view it as trauma porn but that simply means you’re not into the damsel in distress trope and this was just not for you. Personally, I don’t mind the fl getting saved bc even though it might be unrealistic and cliché I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. It is a romance fantasy, so yes, it is supposed to be unrealistic at times and cliché maybe romance isn’t really your thing and you’re more plot driven. I feel like a lot of you who have this opinion are the same people who hate Disney princesses for simply wanting to find love and happiness. I also saw someone compare it to lost in the cloud don’t get me wrong. I adore that manhwa it is one of the best representations of abuse and mental illness I have read but you cannot compare the two because lost in the cloud is supposed to be realistic and show the reality of what real abuse victims go through that manhwa is also not for everybody because people read to escape from reality. That’s also why you don’t see abuse victims get saved because that’s the reality and not everyone wants to read that. This manhwa is supposed to give hope and abuse victims do need to get saved even though in reality they don’t most of the time but again, this is a fantasy manhwa
