The ML lost his memories first when MC went back in time the first time. He was only able to recover his memories when he went to the future for a second.

like he waited for 10 years..for someone different. like he got a different upbringing; sure his base personality might be the same or similar, but like he def grew up to be different. he wasn't the person he fell in love with in the first place. doesn't mean he couldn't fall in love with him again, but he was no longer waiting for the same person he loved. which was tripping me up.
but he remembered everything after 6 months!!!! which is great. but it makes it a weird situation overall lol but like they finally found each other again yay.
i think they should've both forgotten. i think THAT would make it like real love. they'd find each other again, not knowing who the other was, both different from having lived different lives and still they fit together anyway. idk i liked it but that was def tripping me up.
