Can someone who read through the manga please spoil me about Shima ? I'm currently on par with the anime but I'm getting more and more bored with it. Does anybody ever flip at Shima or are they all stupid all the way through ? Because the dude is making everyone miserable but they all act buddy-buddy and I just can't wrap my mind around what reasoning they use (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜

    Spoiler! Spoilers

So, Shima is a double agent and does help the illuminati to kidnap Izumo (somewhere around chapter 50 I think), but he does this to gain their trust and is actually working for Mephisto and the exorcists. Later, he will give a crucial information to Yukio that will help him in a battle. His friends are very angry at him, of course and even if they learn about his secret mission, it takes some time before he regains their trust.

Thanks for taking the time to answer. The anime is at the "snow arc" I guess so I already pass that but judging by it I'm at the next arc. Shima seems to have business trying to recruit Yukio or at least mess with him. Is it made more clear in the manga that the others have difficulty to trust Shima again, because in the anime they seem to be angry for 20 second and then just go back to their old self. If so I might start reading the manga as it's often more detailed.

    Spoilers!!

It's true that they have to work with him again as if nothing happened, but that doesn't mean there has no impact. For example, Yukio will start being a bit paranoid about the influence of the illuminati within the exorcists branch, thinking that there may be other spies, or even worse, that the illuminati might be right. Meanwhile, Rin is mostly unaffected because he will learn the truth directly from some flashback. I don't remember the reactions of others. Izumo does express she's nervous about being alone with him at some point however.

I don't think the manga becomes boring until way longer. The arc we're currently in is very long and it feels like it is stretched in the most recent chapters, it might be the last arc too. But everything leading up to it has a great plot IMO.
