Which is shown through the lengths he goes to get to know her as well as well as, was mentioned by the guy his father has watching him. In a small ratio, I do believe he was battling heavy arousal but I think the author is trying to show how he is thoughtfully controlling his obsession because he knows it can be problematic due to various reasons.
