Totally agree. She breaking her promise & pushing it honestly. She was only going to accompany them on their journey, now she wants to join them on the battle. Like I know she’s trynna prove herself/conscious cuz of the princess but she has actual battle experience. She still get exhausted when using her mana. But watch everyone get mad at Riftan if he says no

It could have been written in a way where they needed her to be in battle with them… that would speak to her character growth and strength as a mage. But not like this…

There’s plenty of ways to show conflict in a story without regression and making a character appear weak. Maxi is already deeply flawed because of her abusive father. The decision to write this sets her up to be yelled at and made to feel weak and worthless by the one person who should be supporting her and encouraging her.
Are you TRYING to piss Riftan off? Absolutely not. As a matter of fact if she did go he’d be so worried about her that he may get hurt. I’m always on Maxi’s side but this is asking too much.
