no hate ho i js wanted to answer this ^^ but i kinda understand where her inconsistency in her personalities as a character is coming from and why its actually justified and not just some poor writing that doesnt know if you want her character to feel empathy or not
All her life (the current one) she was constantly abused and was devoid of learning basic morals and ethics (proven by the dukes testing her what she would say given in a situation in that one chapter), hence why her moral compass is broken (e.g. Not caring who dies or not) true, she may have empathy and sympathy in her past life but being in a household that does the opposite of treating human with respect and rights naturally affects u to the point u adopt the same detached lifestyle because thats what u constantly now experiencing in this life. PLUS if ur abused, ur abused it doesnt matter what age u are for u to feel vulnerable and feel helpless in a mansion that doesnt look after u and instead treats u that way. Like her trapped in a childs body even though shes an adult.. She still has no power to fight back because of the limited resources she has
but as she continued to learn how to become human through the help of others like the dukes, she not only was able to rationalalize basic human empathy and relationships, but she was also able to feel that as well again even if she doesnt realize or feel it completely quite yet (ex when she felt uncomfy in her insides cus the duke and the other people at the mansion were crying their hearts out because of the people that r stuck in the rubble) hence the shift in her personalities...
Plus, remember how she said she didnt even bother saying the names of the people around her because she doesnt want to start a relationship with them? Ever since she was a child she completely set her self to not come close with any of the mansion because she knows what will happen in the future... They all die! so shes basically conditioned herself into detachment since the start until the end (tho we see improvements of this such as the relationship she now has with rein etc)
Also its not like she was a cold character from the start, we see how he still was an innocent and hopeful girl back then when she was a kid but sadly was slowly becoming more detached and cold as she grew older due to the abuse she was going thru. So if anything,, her being the lovable and sweet personality that she has that you dont seem to characterize her with was within her from the start, it was just hidden and repressed due to the unfavourable circumstances that she was forced to keep her emotions and personality in
Also i get how this manhwa/novel has flows true especially as the reborn part of not being able to remember etc but think of her past life as memories that you dont remember well because it has been that long. Like hell i dont even remember what happened during my highschool years, imagine how would she remember all of the things in her past life, unless the novel was the recent thing she read (eg dokja)before she died, but that wasnt really mentioned so its safe to assume she read this novel during her life but not exactly before her life ended. (since the author didnt disclose what her life was like back then). Plus she remembered the major events and she still used those to her advantage such as using those major events to help rein investigate further

Also she tried to make him leave? She just failed to do so because she didnt have power or author ity inside the mansion. And since she knows how Rein will be treated inside the mansion she did the bare minimum and treated him because in the end, she didnt want to follow the og fl, which died due how she treated Rein as well.
Also ordering not to kill people, she just did that because she knows that it will be troublesome to clean up the mess, especially when the characters of the supposed killing is integral for their plans to push thru
Furthermore u should have considered the flow of her character development when stating ur examples because during how she "cared" for that chimera she already was slowly manifesting her empathy and sympathy again, unlike when the rubble incident happen, she didnt feel anything at first until she actually did by the end (the uncomfiness in her heart part of the chapter)
Also even if she is slowly having empathy and sympathy, above all, this whole thing was part of her plan as well. Like using eliza by helping her to achieve her plan to fuck with the emperor lol.
As for the pets, well like i said, her detached and cold personality wasnt always there, it just became like that due to the abuse, but before that theres thus pureness that she has that seems to be manifested as well when shes with her pets. And i think its good because these are the parts that show that she is not a completely lifeless doll yet, that theres still hope to heal and unrepress her old self thats kind and loving
Lastly i agree that the og MC was basically cut out off the story lol but there isnt really any room and role for the child during whats happening at that time so its befitting for the author to put the swormanship traininf narrative into use by making the og mc do that while the fl does her thing since thats what that kid was probably doing in the original novel as well at that age. Also idk bout u but the cat was pretty present in the story when it needs to be so that characters presence wasnt really lackng in terms of it appearing when it needs to be
Anyways thats it lol my bad if its too long HAHAH i js wanted to share my thoughts because although this story isnt perfect, its still important to analyze why u think thid has flaws and knowing if these flaws are intentional or not.

I’m so tired of seeing reincarnation or transmigration genre in manhwas, because it’s just unnecessary and useless. And in this manhwa it’s one of the most useless things.
An example of good reincarnation/transmigration into novels are “Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint” and “Trash of the Count’s Family”. At least in those manhwas, the main characters constantly interact with the original plot and execute it perfectly. But many other manhwas just take the concept, put it for some reason and do nothing with it. This manhwa is the same.
Main character, Valeta, was reincarnated into the novel, but she doesn’t remember much from the novel. She never even mentions the plot of the novel or important characters besides the main character (who was introduced and then just disappeared for ~50 chapters and never mentioned lol), main villain (ML) and a few other characters. Furthermore, we get absolutely 0 information on her past life, so sometimes I just kept forgetting she is an ADULT in child’s body. Why even add the reincarnation to this when the plot would’ve been just fine without it? Just to add “villain” to the title? I’m hating this because nowadays every second new manhwa/novel has reincarnation and transmigration genre. Just give me a break.
Another thing that pissed me off is Valeta’s personality, because author kept changing it and changing their mind about it. In the beginning, she was kind, but had to keep distance because of her fear to lose people. But then author just kept going back and forth with it. One moment she is kind and then another she is acting she couldn’t care less if other people suffer and just like a sociopath that doesn’t understand some human emotions (but again wtf is she acting like this? she wasn’t actually a child growing up in these conditions. she was an adult. yes, it’s traumatising, but it wouldn’t completely delete understanding of basic sympathy and empathy).

There are many more inconsistencies with her character, but I don’t want to go and spend more time talking about this.
Plot had a great potential and I don’t mind a morally gray MC, but it was just wasted. Author is inconsistent and throws a lot of unnecessary shit into the plot (like reincarnation that could be removed and nothing would change and many more).
P.S. it’s my opinion and I’m not dissing people who like this manhwa.
