Dojin keeping in contact with Hyesong’s mom felt like a fucking betrayal to me or maybe its just my bias towards Hyesong. I’m gonna cry (/TДT)/

He is still a son in law to hyesung's mother. The mother was left by her family and lived alone. Dojin only wants to help his mother in law so that if something happens to her both him and hyesung won't feel guilty of not supporting her while she's still alive. That is an act of kindness to someone even if that someone did something wrong in the past. Byul also understands his father's intention that's why he keeps seeing his grandma. But the two men kept it a secret from hyesung because they knew that hyesung is still in the process of accepting his mom. Maybe as the chapters progress, hyesung will finally accept and forgive his mom

Hyesung doesn’t need to. That’s a woman who abandoned her kid, not a mother. And Dojin is annoying me by hiding it from Hyesung. I, however, can understand that Dojin is too softhearted and doesn’t understand the pain Hyesung went through because of his family.

And Byul doesn’t know the whole situation.

Sure, point taken. But in this case, and in my opinion this relation doesn’t need to be ammended or something. And I am sure as hell, that her new family leaving her is her karma for leaving Hyesung. ╥﹏╥

Exactly. Personally if someone told me to forgive someone that abused me (neglect is abuse), I’d jump them. Haha.

Yes, that's her karma. Now the mother knows how does it feel to be abandoned. Dojin is helping her because he doesn't want hyesung to feel guilty if something happens to her. Like @ Huaran said that Dojin is softhearted. Dojin not telling hyesung about it maybe because he doesn't feel the urge to or maybe hyesung is still not okay talking about it.

I like what Dojin did. It was an act of kindness but at the same time this also serves as a message that says : Even if you abandoned my wife I will still support you financially because I love him so much. I don't want you to feel abandoned by him just like what you did to him.

I can forgive but I can't forget, that's me irl lol. And if I were hyesung I will support my mom financially but I will make a boundary between us. Just so you know to flaunt my richest. Others will praise me as a good daughter while they will judge my neglectful mother lol.
