    Super long explanation:

The blonde kid, Alexander, whose family runs a perfume business, is forced by them to pretend to be an alpha to enhance their perfume business (Brett said Alex's family did all the paperwork to make him look like an alpha). He was never "welcomed" in this alpha/frat and was constantly bullied. Alexander probably doused himself in alpha perfume right before he appeared in front of the crowd and shot Nathan, who is his primary bully, in the head. Nathan is the other blonde dude. Nathan and frat friends have been bullying Alex for ever, and Alex finally exploded. Nathan is an absolute scumbag who had it coming. I think Nathan was also the alpha who tried to make a move on Brett. Anyways, at the party, Brett was very conscious of what was happening, so he grabbed the phone of the dying Nathan, unlocked it using Nathan's face, then downloaded as much photos and videos from the Cloud back onto Nathan's phone. There's a bunch of hard evidence of bullying recorded on his phone

He then went to see Alexander after he had been released on bail. Brett (prob did hurt his arm slightly but) made it seem as if he had hurt his arm when he was tackled by Hayden. So he had it "bandaged" up and placed in an elbow support, whereupon he actually hid the gun he was going to give Alexander. I don't know why he was helping Alexander out, because, as it stands, Alexander was going to get the sentence for first degree murder, AND had also shot AT BRETT as well. So he said, here's the evidence for your bullying, and handed him the phone which belonged to Nathan, whom EVERYBODY had wanted to get their hands on. But, he says, this is still not enough evidence to back him for a reduced sentence. He also said: he basically will "overlook" the fact that it's not a mass-killing spree, as Alexander had locked eyes with him RIGHT BEFORE shooting him as well, which indicated 100% murder intent and not an "accidental shot", which would have made him a mass murderer, into making it an impulsive decision to ONLY shoot at Nathan. Thus, his sentencing will only include 1 count of manslaughter (Nathan) instead of an additional account of attempted manslaughter (Brett). So basically Brett said he wasn't going to charge him with attempted murder as well. He's "letting him off the hook". Is Brett that magnanimous?!? Idk. He then went on to say that, out of everyone involved, no one is going to testify on your behalf, so your best bet is to take that gun and shoot yourself with it. This will make it look like you're more of a victim (I guess) and will garner more empathy (bcz no one is testifying for you so....and make sure you shoot yourself here (pointing to his left shoulder)) because the bullet that had been meant for me had pierced Hayden instead. Brett said, are you now afraid to shoot yourself now that everything is over? Weren't you going to do that anyways that day after shooting (us) if you hadn't been tackled to the ground? (Basically commit suicide). Basically saying he lacks courage now. He lacks courage to shoot himself even though he didn't when it came to others. (I could be wrong about the suicide attempt though so don't quote me on that. But it seemed Brett did indicate that.) But Brett told him, you have plenty of people guarding you right outside, don't worry, you'll be saved. So he did just that. Then Brett went to see Hayden. He also convinced Alex that if he didn't do anything, he will get nothing short of a life sentence and depending on who gets in the office, he might even get the death penalty, something about Republicans getting into office (elections are every four years?!?) I'm not versed in politics. Anyways, Nathan's family, the Weavers, are in politics and have a lot of political sway, he said that if the phone is submitted as evidence they will do a close trial, which seems to go against Alex's favor. So he's giving him all of these advices to Alex. Dunno why he's helping him though, considering that Alex had aim and shot AT him INTENTIONALLY. And he also advised Alex to do so as soon as possible, since if the Weavers is elected his chances of a favorable outcome is slim, shooting himself now, take advantage of ppl's interest in high profile cases, swaying public opinion IN HIS FAVOUR. And (possibly) because Alex's family, hailing from France, is viewed as an outsider, and isn't "welcomed" in this "neighborhood", aka part of town. So it's best he does everything he can to win public favor, and the sooner the better, in this case, to make "a wave" with public sympathy. If he does he will only be looking at a 10-20 years sentence instead of a death sentence or life sentence without the possibility of parole (aka life behind bars). The other gunshot motive to the shoulder is to avenge the shot Hayden had taken for him when Alexander had aimed at him (Brett).

omg the way you took to the time to explain everything from start to finish, bless your heart seriously. thank you so much for the time you took to do this cuz it helped me gather my own thoughts back on this and I totally missed that he used his fake injury to smuggle the gun inside.

No problem. I had to work this story around a lot myself. There were just too many angles. The first time I read it I went over the raws cuz I couldn't wait for the second season. And after officials came out I'm still confused despite its being translated. So I had to go over everything again. It's not the best explanation; I'll have to edit to make it smoother. But there were like 3-4 points on there. Public opinion, who's in power (Nathan's family), favorability (his family), fitting in, political sway/power, ruling party, seriousness of the crime, what can you do to lessen the seriousness of said crime. If you think about it, Brett is actually HELPING. Since he was shot at but didn't press charges. Thus helping to reduce the sentence to just 1 count of murder. If he had (like any regular person would) then it would be an additional count of attempted murder. Who can be more magnanimous than that. But he must know what he's doing. That Alex wasn't gonna go after him. If he did press charges it'll only seal the deal for Alex (most likely death sentence) like a double sentence. What does Brett get out of this!?!? Idk. Cuz certainly he could have beaten the crap out of Alexander "at the party" after he'd been shot at....no reason for him to plan all this elaborate scheme to save Alex. Maybe he seems aloof and has a "better-than-thou"/"don't give a damn" attitude but maybe he's not a cold-hearted person? Who helps a murderer (albeit "justified") gets justice ? (He understood Alexander's motives and even though didn't help him out w the bullying he's helping him "get-off-with-a-lighter" sentence "after the fact".) Kind of a complex character, if you ask me.

I don't know how much of his injury is real. But it definitely is used as a cover up. Lol. Like it could be a light injury but it creates an alibi. But now that you've said it, he IS a football star and I'm sure he's been dealt with (more serious) injuries than that?

Oh my God! Thank you for the clearer explanation. I also didn't know what was going on between Brett and Alexander just by reading Brett's POV. I was also confused at first about why Brett was going this far to help Alexander, but now I think I understand. For me, it's because Brett just wants revenge for what Alexander did to Hayden. He asked Alexander to shoot his shoulder with a gun so he would get the same wound as Hayden's

Remember what Brett did before the author decided to continue making this manhwa a long series? He asked Hayden to tutor him just so he could annoy him. Brett even went as far as making a bet with Scott, ordering Scott to go to Hayden's apartment so Scott could lie that Brett wanted to sexually harass him. This would eventually make Hayden want to sleep with Scott, which Scott always desired. It turns out Hayden didn't do that and, instead, came to Brett in anger and raped him. In the end, all of that was actually predicted and planned by Brett because he wanted to take over Hayden for himself, he was already completely down bad for Hayden.

So, I guess the reason Brett wants to help Alexander is that he wants Alexander to feel Hayden's pain. Plus, he almost lost Hayden in that gun-shooting incident caused by Alexander. Brett can't just ask Alexander to shoot himself without offering anything necessary to Alexander in return.

I think it's a general consensus. But I view it as him helping. Because in the end, like he said, when he came to Alexander with the proofs and the proposals, if he had wanted to hurt Alexander he could have done it at the party, right after the shooting and Alexander had already been tackled to the ground. He didn't ACTUALLY have to "help" him at all. Without Brett's help he would be facing life in prison w/o possiblity of parole and or a death sentence. Brett not only gave him proofs, he gave him EXCELLENT advice too. Refer too all the points he gave him. Tbf Brett didn't want to be involved with the scandal, so he didn't press charges, otherwise Alexander would not have been charged with just one count of murder but also at least one other count of attempted manslaughter. Yeah. I forgot about the short story, but he's really underhanded.
