I love love love Kanou and Ayase. And yes, the rape at the first was concerning but Kanou made himself the best person in Ayase's life. He would die for Ayase.
I love that the toxic trait Kanou has is his possessiveness to Ayase - but he loves, trust, cares and is so kind to Ayase.
I dont care what others say.
For me this is one of the best yaoi manga and the best lovers in yaoi.

No you're not alone. I like this manga alot i read it from time to time when i don't find anything to read. I can even cite most lines but still cant get tired of it. It has this oldschool aesthetics and the fresh that never gets old. I even love the stupidly weird size gap, the gothic fashion and the cliches. Everything is just so natural and genius, like this is what you call entertaining and comprehensive. Just dont read too hard into it, think of it as a style and it becomes a masterpiece
Same!!! I totally agree! And nowadays in other mangas I read the comments... And I am like wtf... I read some mangas way young, for sure, and this was one of them... But still I don't understand all the hate...
And to this day, this is one of my favorites. I still enjoy the stories and how the characters grow... And I still re-read it just for a good story, I can count, Luckily, with two hands good new mangas out there now...

This was like one of the first yaoi animes I was introduced to. And then I read the manga at some point later on. I get people’s problems with it, especially if you don’t like rape. I personally like the toxicity and taboo in it and the ML’s character and also think Ayase is super cute and pretty lol. Although the size difference is a lil disconcerting if you’re not used to it or don’t know the MC’s ageOh well, guess I’ll be the only one to enjoy this author’s work
