i guess its because of the accident jooha had made him forget all his trauma and i guess the trauma made him have the pearls, im not the best at explaining this but yeah

I think the pearls are a representation of his trauma cs he got raped a lot because of them. So I think getting rid of them is the authors way of saying he’s let go of all his trauma.
