Bro he was an orphan he was trying to survive, it's been a long time, cause I followed it since day one so I have forgotten some parts because of the hiatus. But I will tell you that it wasn't one-sided, it was a war and while the other side might call him a monster, this side called him a hero because he brought them victory. Like, you got to be kidding unless there was a specific information that said otherwise,he was someone who served the church(because they treated giving him a place to stay resulting in him serving the church) and so he was sent to wars as a soldier at the age of 17 by the order of the church(clearly using orphans to raise their prestige) he couldn't go against the church or he would be dead. As he carried the orders he spared one life, a young boy, it was a careless choice that was supported by one other comrade(after all it was an action that was already done)that came to bite him back by taking his friends life which resulted in his trauma. Look it was kill or be killed, and his comrades were the ones to pay for his act of benevolence. If you want to be nice, be so in this time and day you can but what do you expect from that time period not to mention after seeing how they were following him when they thought he had escaped the church. He won the war for the church and in the war he lost his friends to merciness.

If your country was in war I dare you to step up in between raise your arms and say we plead for mercy and peace and in the end you will see either the enemy will kill you for how absurd that was or your country for your shamefull act and then come and talk to me about human life. NPC Charlotte is so hot! I don’t like how FL turns into a doormat for ML, no matter the psychological factors at play.
I’m not feeling ML, he’s a doormat who blindly obeys all of his evil masters whims—including the slaughter of many innocent lives. He’s literally a war criminal, so no, u cannot make me feel sry for u. It all falls on his own horrible decisions in life.
Honestly, I get why the game system is so determined to punish him. Even if its motives aren’t rooted in justice, it feels like he’s getting exactly what he deserves. The nerve of him to act like some morally righteous person when his hands are drenched in blood.
It pissed me off how he continuously stopped Charlotte from teaching those bandits a well deserved lesson.
Sigh ngl I might just prefer her NPC self. I was so hyped for an MC who seemed like a true villain, but she’s becoming more human as the system strips away her buffs for breaking the rules.
Still, it’s a really fun survival read! To keep things interesting, they both need to go yandere—which ofc won’t happen.
